Illness To Wellness

Illness to Wellness : Reclaiming Your Life After a Medical Crisis gives you a toolbox of practical, thoughtful strategies to help you manage the emotional, medical, spiritual, and legal aspects of recovering, surviving and thriving after a health crisis. Cohen uses her thirty years of professional experience as a practicing rehabilitation therapist and case manager, and her own journey through a life-altering medical accident to provide an easy-to-follow road map through the confusing, complex medical system.

Cohen’s writing is clear and engaging…the result is a book that is both practical and compassionate…A comprehensive and well-written guide to managing serious medical problems.    –Kirkus Review

“Betsy Cohen has endured a trial by fire and has chosen to help others survive, even flourish, after a medical disaster. In Illness To Wellness, Cohen uses personal hard times and decades of experience as a healthcare professional to help us navigate the medical maze. This book is well worth reading.”     –Richard M. Cohen, New York Times best selling author of Blindsided and Strong at the Broken Places.

“All too often, healthcare providers see themselves as immune to illness, much less to subpar providers or the vagaries of an impersonal medical care system. In her book, Betsy provides a first person account of her experience and uses that as an opportunity to teach others to better navigate health crises”.   –Gregory J. O’Shanick, M.D., President and Medical Director, Center for Neurorehabilitation Services
